Why do we do it?

We work  to implement and deliver programs to conserve and protect the county’s natural resources. Environmental education is an essential component. We hope to provide county residents with the tools and strategies to be responsible environmental citizens.

New Programs for 2009 and 2010:

  • Meaningful Watershed Education Experience: We will be working with three county middle schools to visually assess local streams.  We will be working with the teachers and students to implement restoration projects and deliver conservation field days.
  • Watershed posters and DVDs:  Through a DEP Growing Greener Grant we will be creating and distributing a county watershed poster and information DVD to local middle schools to be used in school curriculum.
